On this page
A free trial gives you your own os.construction workspace for 14 days, with a sample project already loaded so every main tool has data in it. No card is needed. This page walks through signing up, what you get, a short tour of the sample project and what happens when the trial ends.

The app creates your company workspace, your user, the default permission templates and the sample project in one step, then signs you in and opens your projects list.
If an email address already has an account, signup won’t say so. It asks you to sign in or reset your password instead.
Verify your email
We send a verification link to your work email. The link works once and expires after 48 hours. Until you click it, a Verify bar at the top of the app reminds you, with a Resend verification email button. Sending a new link makes older unused links stop working.
What you get
- One company workspace, named after the company you entered.
- You as company admin. Company admins have Admin on every tool in every project, and can open Company Admin to invite people and edit permission templates.
- Five permission templates: Project Admin, Project Manager, Standard, Read Only and Subcontractor. See Set up permission templates.
- The sample project, Riverside Medical Center #24-118, with you on the team as Project Admin.
- A trial bar at the top of the app showing how many days are left.
Tour the sample project
Riverside Medical Center is the same sample job these docs use: a Phase 2 patient tower in Sacramento, with a $48.2M original contract. It comes with a team of sample contacts (they can’t sign in), subcontractors, cost codes, locations and spec sections, so assignees, ball in court and approvals read like a real job. Explore and edit freely; it’s your copy.
Four places to start:
- RFIs. Open RFI-212, the question about fire dampers at the rated corridor penetrations on Level 3. See RFIs.
- Change Events and Change Orders. The change event for the dampers records RFI-212 as its origin. CO #14 prices it at $86,400. See Change orders.
- Commitments. Summit Mechanical’s subcontract (SC-004) carries the matching commitment change order, CCO-03. Volt Electric’s purchase order is PO-118. See Commitments.
- Budget and Payment Applications. The budget rolls up by cost code, and Pay Apps #1 to #9 bill the prime contract with 10% retainage. See Budget.
The sample project also has data in Submittals, Daily Log, Specifications, Drawings, Documents, Punch List, Meetings, Tasks, Observations, Schedule, Prime Contracts and Direct Costs. Bidding is turned off on it, as it would be on a job already under construction.

Bring your own work
The trial workspace starts with the sample project. To bring over real projects, people, field records and contracts from your current project management system, see Run an import, or talk to us and we’ll help set one up.
Invite your team
As company admin you can invite people from Company Admin → Invitations. Each person gets a one-time link to set up their account. Then add them to a project with a permission template. See Invite your team.
When the trial ends
After 14 days the workspace becomes read-only. You can still sign in, view everything and export it, but you can’t create or edit records. A Read-only bar explains this at the top of the app. The REST API follows the same rule: reads keep working, and writes return 403.
The app doesn’t delete a workspace when its trial ends. See Export to CSV and PDF for how to take it with you.
After the trial
Pricing for paid plans isn’t set yet; talk to us. The Upgrade link in the trial bar emails the team. If you want a say in what gets built next, read about the founding program.
