Open Accounting > Reports for company accounting statements and controls. Reports can be filtered by supported dates and entities; permissions limit the data available to the viewer.

Balance sheet, income statement, trial balance and ledger detail provide views of posted accounting data. Drill-down links retain supported filters. Export formats available in the viewer include CSV, XLSX and PDF. A report filtered by entity, job or department names the filter after its dates (for example As of 2026-10-31 · Entity: E1 Main · Job: Riverside) on screen, in the PDF header, in the XLSX About sheet and on the CSV’s closing Report line. Rows the report flags, such as self-approved journal entries, loss jobs or reversed receipts, are tinted in the viewer.

The integrity report distinguishes failures from checks that require review or have no installed source adapter. A warning or unavailable subledger is not a passing reconciliation. The WIP tie-out compares 1210, 2210 and 2220 with the posted WIP snapshot. Historical AR reconciliation remains unavailable.

The statement of cash flows uses the indirect method and ties to the change in cash. Compare: Prior period or Prior year adds a second column with its own opening balances and a change column. Each balance sheet account is classified by its cash flow category, which defaults by account type. The construction chart of accounts classifies the line of credit (2510), current portion of long-term debt (2520) and intercompany due to (2530) as financing, so draws and repayments never count as operating cash. The report notes list every account classified away from its type default.

The cash flow statement ends with supplemental information: interest paid and income taxes paid are the amounts on the interest expense, income tax expense and income taxes payable accounts in entries paid directly from a bank or cash account (amounts paid through an AP bill are not included). Mark a journal entry noncash when it moves no cash, such as equipment bought with a note: it is left out of investing and financing and listed under noncash investing and financing activities. A noncash entry cannot have a bank or cash line or an income or expense line, and its reversal stays noncash. An entry reversed within the period is not listed, and neither is its reversal.

The balance sheet presents contract receivables net of the allowance for credit losses (1140), shows the provision for anticipated losses on contracts (2220) and the current portion of long-term debt (2520) on their own lines, and computes working capital from them. Accounts are placed by their system role in Settings › Chart of accounts, so a remapped account moves with its role. Existing companies’ template accounts 1140, 2430, 2520, 6800, 8100 and 8400 received the new system roles, and an account with a system role cannot be deactivated until another account is mapped to that role.

To classify debt, add a debt or lease schedule (API: debt_schedules) with the long-term account and its principal due dates, then post the current-portion reclass for an entity and date (API: current_portion_reclass). The principal due within one year moves to the current portion on the general journal and reverses the next day. Posting again for the same entity and date returns the same entry, and a schedule whose current portion is larger than the account balance is refused.

The CECL allowance report computes expected credit losses from the loss rates in accounting settings (cecl_policy): open AR by days past due (each customer’s credits offset only that customer’s balances), disputed AR, retainage receivable and contract assets, each times its rate, against the allowance already booked. Posting it for an entity and date (API: cecl_allowance) books the difference to 1140 against bad debt expense (6800). It refuses until a policy is set. The rates are your policy inputs; review them against your collection history and current conditions.

With Columns: By entity, the balance sheet and income statement show one column per entity, then Eliminations (the elimination entity) and Consolidated. Each column balances on its own. Consolidated nets intercompany to zero only as of a period end where Periods > Eliminate intercompany was run: eliminations post as of that date and reverse the next day. The integrity report fails when two entities disagree on what they owe each other, even if the differences offset company-wide.

To compare with a budget, import a CSV under Reports > GL budgets (columns account, period as YYYY-MM, amount, and optionally entity and department codes; amounts positive for revenue and expense), then run the income statement with Compare: Budget. Variance is actual less budget for each account and subtotal. Budgets are monthly, so every month that starts inside the date range counts in full. Re-importing the same year and name creates a new version.

The income statement shows income tax expense (the account with the income tax expense role, 8400 in the template) as Provision for income taxes below Income before income taxes, not in other income and expense.

The Statement of changes in equity shows each equity account and current year earnings for a date range: opening balance, net income, contributions (credits to equity accounts), distributions (debits to equity accounts) and transfers (the year-end close and the roll of earlier years’ earnings into retained earnings) to the closing balance. Its closing total equals total equity on the balance sheet at the end date, and a check confirms the transfers net to zero.

Income statements by entity, department or job show at most 50 columns. Past that, the values with the least revenue are combined in an All other column and a note says how many; the totals are unchanged.

Monthly and quarterly income statements are limited to 36 displayed periods. Narrow the date range or use total-only columns for a longer range; oversized requests are rejected instead of silently dropping periods. Project Financials and Analytics reports remain project-level views with their own scope.

When an asset is sold or scrapped, the cash flow statement adds back the accumulated depreciation removed by the disposal, so the depreciation line equals depreciation expense. The gain or loss is taken out of operating activities, and investing activities show purchases and the disposal proceeds on their own lines. The statement still ties to the change in cash.

Balance sheet and income statement can roll account rows up under their parent account (Parent accounts › Roll up). Each parent row shows the total of everything below it, and a multi-level chart nests a subtotal at every level for the parents inside the same statement line.

Construction and receivables reports

  • Job cost status: per job and cost code, original budget, approved changes, revised budget, committed, open commitments, actual cost by cost type (labor, material, subcontract, equipment, other), cost to complete, EAC and variance. Each job’s figures equal its forecast worksheet on the same date. A job that cannot be forecast is listed with the reason.
  • Job cost detail: every actual job cost line in the date range, linked to its journal entry.
  • Committed cost: approved subcontracts and purchase orders by job, with committed, invoiced to date and open amounts.
  • Retainage by job: retainage receivable and retainage payable balances by job as of a date.
  • Job profitability: revenue, cost by type and margin per job for a date range, or job to date (Period › Job to date).
  • AR overview: open receivables, past due, more than 60 days past due, disputed, retainage, unapplied cash, DSO, and customers over their credit limit.
  • Cash receipts journal: posted receipts by date. A receipt counts as reversed only when its reversal is dated on or before the end date, so re-running a past month gives the same total. A reversal dated in the range of an earlier receipt is a negative row.
  • Sales tax liability: tax billed by tax code and the sales tax payable roll-forward.

The Trial balance page filters by job and department as well as entity. A job or department slice leaves out lines without that dimension, so it is labelled as not expected to balance instead of out of balance. Its export is the as-of worksheet with the same filters; with an activity window or a split, export is not offered because the worksheet would show different figures.

Controls reports and the audit log

  • Manual journal entry review: posted general journal entries with preparer, approver and amount. Self-approved entries are flagged.
  • Segregation of duties conflicts: documents that one user both prepared and approved, or prepared and released. These can be journal entries, AR invoices and receipts, bank transactions, payment runs or pay runs.
  • Vendor master changes and PII reveals, taken from the audit log.
  • Accounting › Audit log lists every accounting change, newest first. You can filter by user, record type, action and date, and export the results to CSV. Updates to accounts, entities and settings record the before and after value of each changed field. The audit log covers the whole company, so only users without an entity or project limit can open it.
