A T&M ticket that holds up when you bill it.
Write extra work down the day it happens: who worked, what ran, what went in, coded and signed. The CSV totals each line as quantity × unit cost.

Using the T&M ticket template
- Write the ticket the same day, before the crew leaves. Next week nobody remembers the hours.
- Describe the work and why it is extra: who directed it, and the RFI, drawing or event behind it.
- One line per person-trade, piece of equipment and material, each with quantity, unit and a cost code.
- Fill in your contract rates as unit costs, or leave them blank for the office to price; markup goes on the change, not the ticket.
- Get the owner’s or GC’s field representative to sign on the day. A signature confirms the hours and materials, not entitlement to payment.
- Attach the signed ticket as backup when you price the change event or change order.

Do this in os.construction instead of a spreadsheet
T&M Tickets in os.construction keep each ticket as labor, equipment and material lines with quantity, unit, unit cost and cost code; each line is quantity × unit cost and the ticket totals itself. You submit with the field signer’s typed name, and a reviewer approves or rejects. Changing lines on an approved ticket sends it back to Draft. Tickets don’t link to change events automatically today: use the approved ticket as backup when you create the change.

Questions about the T&M ticket template
What is a T&M ticket?
A daily record of labor hours, equipment time and material used on work done on a time-and-material basis, usually extra work outside the contract scope, signed by the owner’s or GC’s field representative.
Does a signed T&M ticket mean I get paid?
Not by itself. The signature confirms what was used; whether the work is a change you are entitled to be paid for depends on the contract. Treat the ticket as backup for a change event or change order.
Where does markup go?
On the change, not the ticket. Price the ticket at cost or at contract rates, then apply overhead and profit when you price the change order. The markup vs margin calculator helps.
Does os.construction create a change order from a ticket?
No. Tickets don’t link to change events or change orders in the app today. Use the approved ticket as backup when you create them.
Can the owner’s rep sign on a phone?
In os.construction the ticket records the signer’s typed name at submit; there is no drawn or electronic signature. On paper, use the sign-off block on this template.
