A WIP report that's never stale.
Planned · shaped with contractor input
WIP is math on numbers you already have: contract, estimated cost, cost to date and billings. When those numbers live on one record, the schedule is current every day, and fade shows up while there is still time to act on it.
How it gets done now
Spreadsheets and disconnected tools, each holding part of the same number.
- 01
After close, the controller exports job cost and billing into a WIP spreadsheet.
- 02
PMs are chased for cost-to-complete estimates that get pasted in by hand.
- 03
Formulas break when a job is added, and nobody fully trusts the totals.
- 04
By the time fade is visible, the month that caused it is already over.
One entry. Everything downstream already knows.
On os.construction the record is shared, not synced. Here is everything Job #24-118 touches, the moment it changes.

Straight answers.
Which percent-complete method does it use?
Cost-to-cost: cost to date divided by estimated total cost, which is the most common method for construction revenue recognition. It's deliberately different from billed percent, which is what the pay app says.
Is over billing bad?
Not by itself. Over billing is a liability (billed ahead of earned) and usually helps cash; consistent large over billing can also hide fade. Under billing is an asset but means you've done work you haven't been paid for. Your surety and bank read both.
Will it match my accountant's WIP?
The math is standard. Whether the numbers match depends on the inputs, especially estimated total cost. We're building it so every figure traces back to the records behind it, which makes that reconciliation a click rather than a meeting.
Can I use it today?
No. The live WIP schedule is planned and not in the app yet. Budget forecasts by cost code are live. The free WIP calculator works today.
