A cash forecast built from the jobs.
Planned · shaped with contractor input
Cash in construction is timing: when you bill, when the owner pays, how much is held back, and when you owe your subs. Those dates and amounts already live on the job record, so the forecast can be built from them instead of guessed.
How it gets done now
Spreadsheets and disconnected tools, each holding part of the same number.
- 01
Finance keeps a cash spreadsheet separate from billing and AP.
- 02
Each week someone updates expected receipts from memory and email threads.
- 03
Retainage release and pay-when-paid timing are rough guesses.
- 04
A slow-paying owner shows up as a surprise in the bank balance.
One entry. Everything downstream already knows.
On os.construction the record is shared, not synced. Here is everything Pay App #9 touches, the moment it changes.

Straight answers.
Is cash forecasting available?
No. It's planned. The billing, retainage and commitment records it will be built on are live in the app today, and the founding cohort will help decide what comes next.
What drives a construction cash forecast?
Billing schedule (usually monthly pay apps), owner payment terms, retainage held and released, and what you owe subs and suppliers and when. The free cash flow S-curve calculator shows how those interact over a job.
Will it handle pay-when-paid?
That's the plan: sub payments linked to the owner receipts they depend on, so the forecast reflects your actual terms.
