Goal: Follow one failed inspection item all the way to a closed punch item.
Quality issues travel. A failed inspection item becomes an observation with an owner; if it is a defect to fix before the owner accepts the work, the observation becomes a punch item.
Each step is its own record, linked to the one before, so you can show where an item came from and who signed it off. The sample project has punch items and observations already; you will build the inspection yourself.

Exercise
Open Inspections, go to Templates and click + New Template. Add one section with three Pass / Fail items, and tick Require photo on fail on one.
Click + Create, pick your template, set a location and create the inspection.
Answer two items Pass and one Fail. On the failed item click Create Observation.
Open the observation, set an assignee and due date, then use Convert to Punch Item in the Escalate panel.
On the punch item, set a location, a punch item manager, a final approver and an assignee.
In the punch list, select the item and use Mark Ready for Review, then Close. Watch the cards at the top change.
