A lot of construction finance is repetitive checking: matching an invoice to a PO and a receipt, chasing a missing lien waiver, comparing this month's cost-to-complete to last month's, drafting a change order from an RFI and a quote. An AI agent is software that can do that kind of multi-step work on real records.

The rule that makes agents usable in finance is human in the loop: the agent prepares, a person approves. An agent can draft the change order, flag the invoice that exceeds its commitment or assemble the WIP variance list, but money moves and records change only when someone with authority signs off.

Three things make that trustworthy. Agents work within the same permissions as people, so an agent cannot see or do what its role does not allow. Every proposed action shows its evidence: which records it read and why it reached its conclusion. And every action, approved or rejected, lands in an audit trail.

os.construction is building agents on this model with contractor input; the agent features are planned. The test for any agent, ours or anyone's: can you see what it did, why, and who approved it?
