## How to use it

1. Open a change event the day something might change cost or time: an RFI answer, an owner direction, a hidden condition, a drawing revision, a sub’s notice. You don’t need the price yet.
2. Record the origin and its reference (RFI number, minutes item, daily log date) so the backup is one lookup away when you price it.
3. Put a rough order of magnitude (ROM) on it, even as a range. A range in the forecast beats a blank.
4. Mark scope as in, out or to be determined. In-scope events still matter: they move cost even when they don’t move the contract.
5. Check your contract’s notice requirements and record when notice went out.
6. When it is priced, write the PCO or change order number on the line, so the log shows where every event ended up.
